Here are some of the many benefits you'll enjoy as a part of the Crowne Plaza Crew, where work is fun and rewarding!

Immediate Benefits

  • Crew Member Meals: One meal per shift is provided to all Crew Members in the Galley for a fee of $1. Breakfast is served daily at no charge to the Crew Member.
  • Credit Union: Crew Members may participate in the InterContinental Hotels Group Credit Union which offers full service banking, including Visa and Master Card, loans, savings and checking accounts.
  • Jury Duty/Witness Duty: All full time Crew Members are granted time off to serve and are paid the difference between their regular pay and their jury pay.
  • Military Leave: Crew Members are paid during their time off at their regular rate of pay.
  • Direct Deposit: Crew Members may choose to have their checks electronically deposited into their checking accounts.
  • Reporting Pay: Crew Members will be paid for a minimum of two hours when called into work on an unscheduled day.
  • Discounts: All Crew Members are eligible for various discounts at the Crowne Plaza. All Crew Members are eligible for a 30% discount on items purchased from the resort gift shop. As well, Crew Members, with a reservation, are eligible for a discount on food and beverage in the restaurants.
  • LRTA Bus Passes: Crew Members may purchase discounted bus passes from Human Resources
  • Reservation Discounts: All Crew Members are eligible for "Friends and Family" room discounts at the resort, with reservations made on a space available basis.
  • Palmetto Passes: Crew Members who commute to work via the Cross Island Expressway are eligible for a 33% discount reimbursement for one car only.

Benefits After 90 Days

  •  Health/Dental Benefits: All full time Crew Members are eligible to participate in our health insurance program and dental plan after 90 days
  • Life Insurance: Automatically enrolled in life insurance when enrolled in medical insurance. Policy amount is based on base salary. Supplemental life insurance may be added for the crew member, spouse and children.
  • Funeral Leave: Full time Crew Members are granted up to three days with pay in the event of the death of an immediate family member (spouse, parent, sibling, child, or grandparent).
  • Hotel Room Discounts: All full time Crew Members may stay at participating InterContinental Hotels Group hotels at employee rates. These rates are set by each hotel based upon their Average Daily Rate. Rates range from $29-$69/night.
  • Holiday Pay: Full time Crew Members are paid for eight holidays (New Year's Day, Independence Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and one crew member birthday each year).
  • Personal Days: All full time Crew Members are eligible for six personal days per anniversary year.
  • Vacation Pay: All full time Crew Members are eligible for vacation based on the following schedule:
  • Years of Service Annual Earned Vacation
    0-4 years 10 days
    5-9 years 15 days
    10-15 years 20 days
    16 or more 25 days
  • Long Term Disability: You may purchase long-term disability coverage to provide salary protection beyond 26 weeks. Under this plan you will receive 60% of your monthly pay after your short-term disability has expired. The cost of long term disability is based on your salary.
  • Personal Leave: All full time Crew Members are eligible after 90 days. However, requests are approved based on business conditions. Maximum duration is 60 days.

Benefits After 6 Months Continuous Employment

  • Savings & Retirement Plan: Crew Members are eligible to participate after completing 1,000 hours of service. Crew Members may invest 2% to 16% of base salary. We match 100% of the first 4% and Crew Members are eligible to defer up to 75% of base up to the maximum IRS limits. Immediate vesting.
  • Short Term Disability: To help with the financial pressure of a condition, InterContinental Hotels Group provides short-term disability benefits for up to 26 weeks of non-occupational disability. These benefits are calculated based on your pre-disability weekly rate. Benefits begin on the first day of a disability caused by an accident and on the sixth workday of a disability caused by a sickness.

Benefits After 12 Months Employment

  • FMLA/Medical Leave of Absence: All Crew Members are eligible for 12 weeks of leave after one year or 1,250 hours of service.
